The day you asked me was the most amazing and joyous day of my life,
and there was no hesitation at all when I gladly said " yes",
because I knew then that you were my everything,
and that we were destined for a lifetime of happiness.

Her purple mantle to the light,

Her colour, bright as yours is bright?

And I'll never forget our beautiful, so perfect wedding,
I don't remember ever feeling as happy as I did on that day,
I will never forget the way you looked at me as you spoke,
your eyes said everything that you needed to say.

Everyone that knew you, loved you,
and you got the most out of each and every day,
even after working such long hours you wanted more,
and that one line leaves so much left to say:

Because you are in my thoughts every single day,
I feel for and reach out for you every single day of my life,
and I just wanted you to know that I'm proud of you,
I'm so very proud to be known as your wife.

My love for you just keeps on growing,

With every passing day I love you more,

I know we haven't spent that much time together,

and I know you stayed with Mom as long as you could,
but at the end of the day, she?s really quite ill.

But this is meant to be a happy day,
happier for others than for some,
and I just wanted to share some thoughts,
because I wanted to tell you about my Mom:

Because you have persistently and consistently loved us,
and it seems like 'you' is always the last thing on your mind,
you have this wonderful gift of being able to inspire,
and we know that's a treasure and so very hard to find.

Mom, I'm not pulling on your "urethra",
because I do have a few heartfelt words to say,
and now is as good a time as any,
after all, it's not every day you have your birth-day.

So then all that?s really left to discuss,
is how, day by day, you should really live,
and intuitively, I think I know the answer,
because I think everybody should learn to give.

And saying goodbye is so very hard,
but maybe one day, we'll get to Maine,
in truth, it doesn't matter what we do,
if we're together, we'll just do it again and again.

Like the time we spent all day fishing,
we?d been quite successful and had a stringer of fish,
but then I went and lost the lot, you were quite upset,
and I was sad for a while, with many a forlorn wish.

I'm so looking forward to the adventures ahead,
and to our future stories, as yet unwritten and untold,
new careers, new homes and one day, children,
so it's with you, I'm looking forward to getting really old.

You are the greatest gift on earth,
in fact, a gift from God above,
and now I know the meaning of marriage,
and now I know the meaning of true love.

You gave me the courage to follow in your steps,
and at the end of day, that?s the greatest gift of all,
as Dad, because of you I walk taller,
in fact, I feel like I?m ten feel tall!

I have so much love, respect and admiration for you,
and every day, you prove just how much you truly care,
and if I could visualize the perfect husband,
well, my mind would conjure up a picture of you standing there.
