after all, 50 years, Mom and Dad were wed,

You love those old black and white movies,
and from Cleveland, you've travelled afar,
and I think our wedding song was simply perfect,
because you are loved: "Just the way you are"

And I'll never forget our beautiful, so perfect wedding,
I don't remember ever feeling as happy as I did on that day,
I will never forget the way you looked at me as you spoke,
your eyes said everything that you needed to say.

I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world,
all the tea in China or all the fishes in the sea,
because I love you so very, very much,
you've made my world a great place to be.

And what is that snow in your hair?
I bet you love those little white flakes.
Want to get rid of your dandruff?
Staying off the grog is all that it takes.

You?re a fabulous grandfather and papa,
and I can?t wait until our baby meets you, face to face,
because I know <NAME> and <NAME> love you so,
and you?ve made all our world?s a much better place.

But you made many sacrifices for our educations,
because you wanted to give us the very best of starts,
and of all the 52 cards in any one pack,
we?re very lucky, we drew the Kings of Hearts.

I know you like a drink and a good chat,
but you?ve always given us an ear that?ll understand,
and I know you?ve been a very protective and proud father,
but to be honest, you?re the best Dad in all this land.

Those six years were very tough,
but that's just when the tough got going,
and you showed Dad all of your love,
and gee, you did a lot of showing !

And I know that He keeps you safe on the road,
and there's many seniors that you've driven all around,
you're appreciated by many, especially this family,
we know that it's a pure and precious gem that we've found.

Even though you've lost the love of your life,
(and this is one of those meaningful rhymes),
The Lord will give you all of His strength,
to get you through your more difficult times.

All have faded, fallen, died;

And did you know that when you left home,
well, I cried me a river for some days,
it felt like I was all alone, center stage,
it felt like I was starring in one of those tragic plays.

94 wonderful years full of hard work, fun and excitement,
Vivian was the last of her generation and truly loved by all,
she celebrated life and taught us all to do the same,
and to pick yourself up whenever you stumble or fall.

And as you know, I?ve taken some wrong turns,
and at times, my universe became totally dark,
but you?ve always been there to rescue me, to save me,
and to re-ignite my future, all it took was you, my spark.
