Actually, there's so much I'm going to miss about him,
he was loving, caring, he was just, well, he was just and fair,
he always listened, he was someone who I could count on,
he was not a man of many words, but he was always there.
Actually, I could go on and on and on,
because truly, you're the greatest man I've ever met,
and although we've shared so many wonderful times,
as the saying goes: "You ain't seen nothing yet".
You own a spa, massages, facials, make up,
personal training, you know, that sort of thing,
but there's something missing in your life,
even though you're wearing that wedding ring.
You're great with the kids and you care for us all,
and I know as children go, I am like the third,
but when you said "I do" on our wedding day,
well, they were the sweetest words I've ever heard.
And now it's been five years plus six more,
if I'm not mistaken, that's a total of eleven,
and I've spent that time with my dream man,
so here on Earth, I've already found my heaven.
Mom likes that you can sit and talk about anything,
but you're also happy just sitting with nothing to say,
either way, Mom feels most comfortable when you're near her,
Mom says her finest 24 hours were all on her wedding day.
Now all this, started exactly 60 years ago,
well, sixty years and nine months to be precise,
and that's when this man's life story started out,
and what a story! (And didn't he turn out so very nice?)
We started with a small affair at (WEDDING VENUE),
but a few months later we entertained around 1000 guests,
we sought the blessings of the Gods, our family and friends,
well, I reckon that, with honours, we've passed many of the tests
I give you my love forever true,
my truest ever words, spoken on our wedding day,
and "Idioma" or "Pansy", I love you,
but I do have a couple of other things to say:
You've always been such a kind and generous man,
you've helped many people when they've had difficult times,
and I just wanted to thank you for being you,
you are the one that has put the reason in these rhymes.
You wrote and read a poem at your father?s service,
and you spoke about him missing your wedding day,
and although that one line expresses so much,
it still means there's so much left to say:
Because in no time at all we were off to Vegas,
thanks to the enormous generosity of our friends,
$36.00 worth of pennies and a double wedding later,
but that's not quite where this story ends.
I, (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME),and (NAME)(NAME),
well, we all know that they've been heaven sent,
we also know you love your spaghetti, big band music,
and "Can't get started" doesn't apply in a charity event.
Look, I'm sorry I was a bit of a "stinker",
but it was a little cramped on the inside,
and just like Dad, I'm a bit of a fidget,
but I couldn't have picked a finer man - even if I'd tried.
We've been apart since our wedding,
a cold wintry morning on (DATE)
but it's only our jobs and circumstance that could separate us,
because only with you, my world's a better place to be.
Because this metrosexual loves you very much,
even with air-con and your 5 minute tan,
you make me feel complete, so wonderful,
all in all, you make me a much better man.
Picture a workaholic, hiking across the desert,
and that sort of sums up our "no bullshit" Dad,
he's a tough business man, "an accountant by trade",
but at selling toilets, he's not at all half bad.
So, you come home and rub her feet,
and I'll tell you, we both felt the benefit of that,
and for the record, Mom married her best friend in St.Lucia,
Mom says you're all man plus more (a matter of fact).
And I'll never forget our beautiful, so perfect wedding,
I don't remember ever feeling as happy as I did on that day,
I will never forget the way you looked at me as you spoke,
your eyes said everything that you needed to say.
Although my first husband was a very good man,
and truly, we had many good times together,
but I know I've never felt this way before,
because what we share will last forever and ever.
And thankfully, it wasn?t a shotgun wedding,
but I do want to thank you for the most special day of my life,
just know that you?re still my anchor, my King of Hearts,
even though, after being shot at, (NAME) made me his wife.
I remember when you came home and said you were born again,
and I think that rebirth made you a better man,
you seemed kinder, closer, you said ?I love you? more,
and spending time with us became your lifelong plan.
You love those old black and white movies,
and from Cleveland, you've travelled afar,
and I think our wedding song was simply perfect,
because you are loved: "Just the way you are"
Because over that year our love has evolved,
and it's grown to become this beautiful, living thing
and I just wanted to say that I'm proud of you,
I'm very proud that you're wearing my wedding ring.
I am a better person since I met you,
you make me want to be the best that I can,
and I want to give you the happiness that you deserve,
you see, I only want the very best for my man.
