Why write the poem: I am expecting my first child...which will be number 10 for our family, and the poem is my way of telling my family of this new addition. I would like the poem to be from the unborn child Baby Whiting.

Messages to send: This is the 10th baby in the family. I want the poem to explain to them that since they are the older cousins... they need to tell me (Baby Whiting) about some of the things they have seen and/or experienced, or encountered and any other wonderful things to being a baby and growing up.

Comments? The cousins all live out of state, therefore, they will not see each other everyday?.I would like the ending part say something about having the cousins help me (Baby Whiting) decorate my room with things I can remember each one of them with. (I will include a piece of stock paper for each cousin to draw, write or create any design for the baby and then I will frame the picture in the baby?s room.)

Hello, my wonderful cousins, I?m told that you all number nine, well, I have a few words to say, so I thought I?d drop you this little line. Now, I guess I?ve been pretty rude, because I haven?t even told you my name, well, I think I?ll keep you guessing a little longer, you can think of it as our little guessing game. So, I think I?ll start with a couple of clues, so read carefully, I wont repeat them again, but I do know my place in the line, so if you like, you can call me number ten. I also know that I love all of you, and each of you has a special place in my heart, and I know that I?ve got a great family, so my life is already off to a wonderful start. I know I've got eight aunts and uncles, I guess you call some of them Mom and Dad, well, I feel very lucky to be joining you all, I reckon this is the best family anyone's ever had. Now, currently it?s quite dark where I am, but it?s warm and I feel lots of love, and I?m looking forward to life on the outside, I?ve already been told about the stars up above. And because you?re all older than me, you need to tell me some of the things that you?ve done, because you?re far more experienced than me, and my birthdays don?t even number one. So, could you please help me decorate my room? (and I know you all live out of state), so I?ve included some stock paper, so please draw, paint, just help me decorate. And in your wonderful artistic designs, show me what you enjoyed when you were small, because I?m going to need all the help I can get, and just remember, I love you, one and all. I know we?ll be very special friends, and you?ll all look after me as I grow, just know that I?m proud to be number ten, oh yes, there?s one other thing that you should know. I?m very proud to be part of this family, and it wont be that long before my ?earth-day?, so please don?t forget to send your designs in, because Baby Whiting, number ten, is on the way.
