What are the key messages you would like to send: Although it has been a hectic first year, I am so glad that I married him and look forward to many more years to come. He is my best friend and I feel a stronger bond with him with every passing day. He has been a great husband to me and a great dad to Madison (2) and Anthony (10). Todd has never treated Anthony like a step son and I thank him so much for helping to raise him and also in coaching him in football and baseball, and helping turn Anthony into the man he will become.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: We met at a bar, Margarita Rocks in 2001 where he was a bouncer. My best friend Jennifer took it upon herself to giver Todd my number because I couldn't stop talking about how cute he was. After much debate, Todd called me and we set up our first date at Tom Hams Lighthouse. It was the first "real" date that either one of us had been on and it was such a great night. It was funny to see Todd, a big bouncer not eat his salad at the restaurant because he was so nervous. I was to cold to go walk on the beach, we ended up renting Dr. Dolittle 2. We were inseperable from then on. We ended up selling my condo after only a few months and buying a house with a yard because of his dog Moose. In April 2003 we had Madison, Todds pride and joy. In July of 2003 Todd proposed to me at a Padre Game on the huge scoreboard. It was also a birthday party for my son so he made sure that Anthony had his own seperate "Happy Birthday" on the scoreboard. Anthony received presents from the "Pod Squad". After that, we began the wedding planning. I have to admit, Todd did the majority of the planning, he could be a wedding coordinater. There was no cost that was to much for our wedding. And on October 9, 2004 we were married. It was the most beautiful, fun wedding. Everyone danced, drank, ate and had a great time. Todd even drank from the chocolate fountain and danced on tables. He even spared me when he did not smash cake in my face, just a little dot of icing on my nose. Everyone laughed when I had to drive Todd home from the wedding, poofy wedding dress and all. We went on the Mexican Riviera cruise for our honeymoon and now 1 year later for our anniversary, are going on the same cruise, but with all of our friends.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts : Todd is the most generous, caring person I have ever met. He would give his last $5.00 to a friend or family member if they needed it. He is constantly thinking about what he can do to make his wife and kids happy, sometimes bringing home pet frogs to do it.
On Every Hour
Although it's been such a hectic year,
my love for you grows stronger on every day,
and now, because my heart is so full of love,
I find, my dear husband, I do have a lot to say:
Because Todd, I'm so looking forward to our future,
as I know there's many more happy years to come,
you're a great husband and you're a great Dad, and,
that makes for one proud wife and one very proud Mom.
I wanted to thank you for being such a great father,
I think of you coaching and my chest swells with pride,
and I know Anthony and Madison couldn't have picked finer,
I know they couldn't - even if they'd tried.
And sometimes water is thicker than blood, and,
all tender shoots need love in order for them to grow,
so I just wanted to say thank you for being you,
but there's a few other things that you should know:
As you haven't just coached Anthony in football and baseball,
you've been a true father and you've coached him in life,
and I know he'll be the man he'll become because of you,
well, just know that you've one very proud, grateful wife.
And we've bounced a long way from Margarita Rocks,
(by the way, thanks Jennifer, Todd, I'm glad you made that call),
because ever since our first date at Tom Ham's Lighthouse,
well, ever since, I've felt like I'm about ten feet tall.
It was funny to see my big bouncer not eat his salad,
but your nerves finally settled down with Dr. Dolittle 2,
and from that moment on, we became inseparable,
and it wasn't that long before I was saying "I do".
But such a lot happened in a few short years,
I sold my condo and we bought a house together,
and in April 2003, we had Madison, your pride and joy,
and at the Padre game, you asked if this was "forever".
Of course, you made sure that Anthony had a "happy birthday",
but then my whole future shone up in those romantic lights,
and after that, we, I mean you, began the wedding planning,
and that eventuated in one of the world's greatest nights.
Actually, no expense was spared and the day was wonderful,
beautiful, fun, everyone danced, drank and had a great time,
you danced on the tables, you drank from the chocolate fountain,
but more than that, you managed to put the reason in my rhyme.
Even though I had to drive you home in my poofy wedding dress,
(that was my thanks for the sweet little dot of icing on my nose),
but after cruising so happily through our first year together,
well, I'm just so glad that it was me that you chose.
Because you are the most generous, caring person I've ever met,
you would give your last five dollars to friend or family,
Todd, I, Anthony and Madison, just wanted to say "thank you",
you've made our worlds a truly great place to be.
You're always thinking about what you can do to make us happy,
sometimes you even bring home a pet frog to make us smile,
well, let me tell you, I need to finish what I've got to say,
but I think the words will stay with you for quite a while:
Because, like I said, our bond grows stronger every day,
I'm so glad I'm traveling through time with my best friend,
because I know I'll love you beyond forever,
long after these earthbound journeys have their end.
I feel like I kissed a frog and he turned into a prince,
and now this princess is no longer trapped in her lonely tower,
Todd, I just wanted to say "I love you, Happy 1st Anniversary",
my love, grows, not more on every day, but more on every hour. |

Allen Jesson Comments:
All I can say is WOW! That is perfect, you are truly talented. You made me cry, and that's pretty hard to do. You can definitely put this on your web-site if you choose to.
I would like the Ribbon Range card, in Burgundy (one of our wedding colors). My favorite verse is the very last one. And my personal message would be, "Thank you so much for being my husband and my children's father. I will love you forever."
So now that you have this, what's next? Once again, thank you so much!!
Melanie"
