27th Birthday poem to a man from his boyfriend separated by distance
What is your name : Daniel
Who do you want the poem written for: Mark, boyfriend
Why do you want the poem written: I want this poem to be written because it's his 27th birthday.
What are the key messages you would like to send: I miss him and wish I could see him. Even though he lives in San Francisco and I in Houston, I feel closer to him every day. If we can survive the difficulties the distance between us creates, we will only have a stronger relationship. Remember Mark...I left my heart in San Francisco!
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: The last time we were together neither one of us wanted to say goodbye. Mark begged me to stay another two days. Mark was looking for me on the subway and passed me by. I recognized him when I saw his cute butt! Mark wrote me the most beautiful goodbye note and made a very special cd of love songs for me. I cried on the plane home to Houston listening to the songs he recorded. I'm sure the other passengers thought I was a basket case. Mark likes to play jokes on me. One time I called and he acted like he was his roommate and he was mad at me.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Mark and I talk to each other every day. We miss each other so much and can't wait to hold each other in our arms.
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): romantic & happy
Please choose which package you would prefer :Deluxe
Would you like a copy of the handwritten drafts: Yes
Do you have any last comments or thoughts: Mark and I haven't known each other very long, but it seems as if we've known each other all our lives.
I Left My Heart
Hello, Mark, my wonderful boyfriend,
these words are just for you,
because I'm proud of who you are,
and I'm very proud of what you do.
And I just wanted to say "I love you",
but in truth, I didn't know where to start,
so I thought I'd share a few feelings,
and give you some words, they're straight from the heart.
Firstly, I'd like to begin by looking skywards,
and thanking those in the heavens above,
because I know I've been blessed to have shared you,
I know that I've been blessed with your love.
Even though you're in 'Frisco and I'm in Houston,
it's only distance that stops us from being together,
and I know if we can survive this difficult time,
well, I know we'll have a love that'll last forever.
As the song goes, I left my heart in San Francisco,
and I want you to know that I miss you very much,
I miss your smell, your warmth, your light,
and yes, how I miss your tender touch.
I remember the last time that we were together,
neither of us wanted to say good bye,
you begged me to stay for another two days,
and your cd of love songs simply made me cry.
I'm sure the other passengers thought I'd lost it,
but in a way, they were exactly right,
because I knew exactly where I'd left my heart,
I'd left it with you, my inspiration, my light.
Although you can stop pretending to be your room-mate,
because I'll always recognize you by your cute butt,
just know that I miss you with all my heart,
and to leave it behind, well, that was the cruelest cut.
But I know that we talk on the phone every day,
and you can sweet talk me with all your wily charms,
just know I can't wait to be holding you again,
I just can't wait to be nestled safely in your arms.
So, in the meantime, just know that I love you,
I've never really said just how wonderful you are,
but if my love for you were a distance,
then it would be further than the furthest star.
In truth, I feel closer to you every day,
and what doesn't break us will only make us strong,
and I just wanted to say "I love you",
but I guess you've always known that, all along.
As it feels as if we've known each other all our lives,
and no, I didn't leave my heart in Fat Sam's Disco,
take good care of it, my love, because you have it,
it's there with you, in sunny San Francisco.
And I just wanted to say Happy 27th Birthday
I guess that's really what these words are for,
here's to you, Mark, you're truly wonderful,
and here's to our everlasting love, for evermore. |
