A damning poem about Bush, Blair and Howard.
I'm sure this poem is now against the so called Terrorist Act. Shame I wrote it before that was introduced. This was inspired by the madness that has unfolded over the early part of this century. The new millenium showed such great promise, only to be extinguished by the warmongering, oil loving, fear generating politicians, who are obviously now in the pocket of their corporate sponsors. May the madness one day end. May peace one day rule (but sadly, I fear, not in my or my children's lifetime).
The Bare Bush
The king has got no clothes on.
Can't you see? The Bush is bare,
the leaves have fallen, their promise gone,
didn't you hear the warning sirens, Blair?
Lies, lies and more lies,
it's a diet that quickly wears you thin,
and then before you know it, the world's destroyed,
with no new chances to start, nowhere to begin.
And what is unfolding before us today,
really should come as no surprise,
because all this was planned so long ago,
sadly, today's telescopes also have blind eyes.
The unfortunate victims of the Twin Towers,
cannot be justified as just casualties of war,
we need to put a stop to this madness,
that's really what these words are for.
And the killing keeps on keeping on,
with never an end in sight,
civilians, soldiers, "peace" keepers,
all trapped in this eternal and merciless fight.
All oils ain't oils,
but the truth is plain to see,
this is a not a war on terrorism,
it's about global supremacy.
And the bare Bush will keep you fearful,
and once again, you'll be looking under your bed,
because you never know where a terrorist may lurk,
it must be true, after all, that's what he said.
But what if the truth was the first casualty?
Then everything that followed was just hot air,
and with that air my suspicions have risen,
so no longer, shall I trust Bush, Howard or Blair. |

Allen Jesson Comments:
As I write this footnote, it is October 2005. Over 2000 US servicemen and around 100,000 civilians have been killed have been so far killed in the conflict. This war is no more about terrorism than my left foot. Oil and religion never mix, like oil and vinegar...
