The management at Bacchus would like to apologize,
because they're sorry, this isn't the check,
instead it's a few words from your soul mate,
so just sit back - what the heck !
Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart,
is it sixteen or is it nineteen years?
I guess it doesn't matter that much,
because we've had more laughter than tears.
We met nineteen years ago today,
and got married on this day too,
and I'm just so happy that we met,
and that you love me and that I love you.
Black Angus, Denny's, then over to my place,
I remember our very first night,
we sat up all night talking,
and yes, I believe it was love at first sight.
It was like two souls blending,
their very being from then was as one,
and our individual travels were over,
and our collective journey had begun.
We'd only known each other a few weeks,
And when you asked me to move away.
I looked at you like you were crazy,
but three years later we were married on our special day.
We had our daughter together,
she's certainly been God's gift from above,
an angel in person personified,
an absolute demonstration of our love.
Everyone that knows us,
is envious of our relationship together,
because they know, as we do too,
that we are soul mates, destined forever.
You are so very understanding,
warm, sympathetic, humble, yet strong,
you excel in everything that you do,
and as a lover you can do no wrong.
You've always been a passionate man,
and you can even outlast the shifting sand,
the earth actually moved for me in Gearhart,
though a tow company lent a helping hand !
You're an excellent father and a provider,
your gift giving is loved so much,
we've all been blessed by your presence,
and oh..., how I love your tender touch.
How we loved our last vacation,
snorkeling and contemplating our sunsets,
life pretty close to perfection,
as good as it's gotten yet.
We've had our trials and tribulations,
but all they've done is bond us closer still,
and I know today, with all my heart,
you love me, I love you, and I know we always will.
I thank God for giving you to me,
I think that I've been truly blessed,
and of all the husbands in all the worlds,
I truly believe that you're the best.
And I think that the palm reader was right,
she said we'd live a long and happy life.
Well, so far she's got it pretty spot on.
