A poem for the Groom from his best friend reminiscing about what they have been through and sorry he can't be with him on this special day.
We have been asked not to publish the details of this request.
Smilestone
We've been friends for so long,
it's kind of hard knowing where to start,
but I thought it would be nice,
if I shared a few words "from the heart'.
On our journey we've travelled far,
and we've had more smiles than moans,
we've been through so many things together,
I think from now on I'll call them Smilestones :)
And as my very best friend,
you know I have no secrets to hide,
so thanks for being on the roller coaster with me,
because at times it became a bumpy ride.
But you've always been there for me,
especially in my times of need,
a sympathetic ear, a dry shoulder,
you knew when to be a friend indeed.
We've grown up together,
so many times our weddings we would plan,
down to every little last detail,
including who would get to be the best man !
We have a bond that will keep us together forever,
I'm so very glad that we've stayed in touch,
and you have been such a wonderful friend,
I'm so very grateful, thank you so very much.
You will always be my best friend,
and now I know what best friends are for,
and I'm so sorry that I'm not with you right now,
a regret that I'll have for evermore.
So just know that I'm with you in spirit,
on this, your very special day,
another wonderful, happy Smilestone,
what more is there left to say ? |
