A poem to say thank you to a special friend who has been a rock for someone who has been through hard times.
We have been asked not to publish the details of this request.
Queenie
The last twelve months have been hard,
I've had a pretty tough time,
but you've been there for me,
so I need to put some words into rhyme.
Because days, weeks, months happen,
the time it seems to go so fast,
and some words never get said,
and if they do, they never last.
So I'm going to change all that,
and change it right here and right now,
don't know if the correct words will come along,
but I'll give it one good try, anyhow:
You are so unique and wonderful,
don't ever change the way that you are,
you are like a ray of sunshine,
you are like my guiding Northern Star.
And you've travelled for over a year,
to find the diamond that was always there,
and being the gem that you are,
your traits you've decided to share !
You always give me so much confidence,
that the future is brighter than today,
you know just when to sit and listen,
and then you know just what to say.
We've had so many great times,
we've fixed the world up (or so it seems),
we've told each other our deepest secrets,
our hopes, our fears and our dreams.
And I know the seeds of greatness,
don't grow in the bottom of a vodka glass,
but I'm so proud that I know you,
and I know that feeling is going to last.
You should know that I value our friendship,
and that I value you as a very good friend,
so let's go for one of our "special moments",
and just chat in a pub for hours on end ! |
