Part of my wedding service in June 2005
Part of my wedding service in June 2005. The 8 days refers to the fact that after a gap of 28 years, I asked Jill to marry me after only 8 days (and she said "yes" :o)
Eight Days
How do I love thee?
Well, let me count the ways,
because I love you today, I?ll love you tomorrow,
I?ll love you until the end of my days.
I love you more than a blackbird?s song,
I love you more than watching my garden grow,
I love you more than the stars at night,
in truth, I love you more than you?ll ever know.
Because even though I?m a smith of words,
I could never describe what I feel inside,
but if I said: ?I love you?, ?I?ll love you forever?,
then at least you?ll know I?ve tried.
So, I guess I?ll try to answer my original question,
to remind you, it was ?How do I love thee??.
I love you more than life itself,
and truly, you mean the very world to me.
And I promise, me to you, for richer or poorer,
I promise you a lifetime of genuine happiness,
and I?m so glad I got to ask my final question,
and in eight days, you had the sense to say: ?Yes?. |
