A thank you gift for mother who raised 15 children.
Special Mother
Money has always been tight,
and the little that you had,
was always spent on us kids,
never on Mum and Dad.
"How on earth does she do it ?"
A question asked by more than a few,
and I'm pleased that I know the answer,
it is because you're special, that's you.
You are so unselfish,
patience is your virtue,
and your heart is big, so big,
there's room enough for him, her and you.
(pointing to other children)
I'm yet to hear your voice raised,
gee, sometimes you have good cause,
and you've never given up on us,
even when you've flogged a dead horse !
You are that rising baker,
far too early out of bed,
making scones at four A.M.,
making other peoples' bread.
You are so unselfish and patient,
the kindest person that I know,
you've always got understanding,
for anybody who's feeling low.
You are the late night listener,
solving problems with just one ear,
happy to be a comfort,
a shining light against the fear.
You are so very special,
you have given so many a start,
you are goodness personified,
you have such a splendid heart.
You have raised 15 children,
they have all been truly blessed,
to have had you in their life,
because, Mum, you're the best ! |
