A gift for daughter who is separated by many miles from her parents but they are very proud of her and she's thought of every day.
We have been asked not to publish the details of this request.
Never Goodbye
For every single goodbye,
there's been a hello before,
and just as one closes,
there's always another opening door.
And goodbyes are never goodbyes,
they're just hellos in reverse,
yes, I admit they're not as fun,
and yes, they are a bit of a curse.
Many miles may separate us,
mere distance may keep us apart,
but just know that we love you,
and that we're joined together by the heart.
Happy 13th birthday, Andi,
these words have been especially penned,
there's more than a couple of good wishes,
and a few thoughts that we'd like to send.
So, please sit back, try and relax,
because this is your very special day,
I hope the right words come along,
we'll give it our best shot, anyway.
You see, sometimes things in life,
don't always go exactly as they're planned,
sometimes it's hard to reason,
sometimes it's hard to understand.
But for every valley in life,
there's a hill sitting there too,
and after every shower and thunderstorm,
the sun always manages to shine on through.
And I think you're just like a butterfly,
who is starting to form her beautiful wings,
and we're all looking forward to your future,
and the hope and promise that tomorrow brings.
Because so far, you've simply done us proud,
you really are a special delight,
you brighten any room that you're in,
and you make mornings out of the darkest night.
Your Dad is absolutely besotted with you,
you certainly are the apple of his eye,
it's amazing how much love he has for you,
I'll have to try and explain just why:
You see, you are so remarkably bright,
and you are so very special to us all,
and you are growing so beautifully;
blonde, blue eyed and you'll be about six feet tall.
I know that you're boy crazy at the moment,
especially now that you're an "official teen",
our advice is not to hurry things,
there's still plenty of the world to be seen :)
Your faith will help guide you,
along life's twisting and turning road,
just remember what it says in the Bible,
and that you usually reap what you've sowed.
And we're looking forward to your next visit,
a rainbow amidst our rainy days,
just remember that we love you,
and we're proud of you in so many different ways.
And I know that you get upset,
and we really do hate to see you cry,
just remember that we all love you so,
and it's always "Au Revoir" and never goodbye. |
