Why do you want the poem written: Christopher and Amber were married on August 21, 2004 Chris is in the U.S. Navy and they are leaving tomorrow, to go back to San Diego, where he is stationed. He is on a Nuclear Submarine, named the USS Helena.
I want them to know just how very proud We are of them.

What are the key messages you would like to send: For Christopher: You are my baby, you know you always will be. From the first breathe that you took, I knew you would be a great man. We are so very proud of you. We Love you so very very much. Now that your leaving with your new wife, which we Love just as much, it hurts so much that I can hardly stand it. My heart just really breaks, but, knowing that you'll have Amber, beside you,help ease the pain.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: In High school, Chris was in Football, Basketball and track. During Homecomning week, they did skits, He was Tina Turner, in a red little Tutu, with black fish net stockings and sang Proud Mary. He was a hit with the whole community. He was the Homecoming King his Senior year of High school.One year, Chris' Junior year in High School, Grandpa Gale made him a little bet, for every Touch down that Chris made, Grandpa would give him $20.00 So, during one game I think Christopher made $120.00 for 6 touch downs. This was just a little one of those things that are just between Grandpa's and Grand Sons.Christopher and Amber were best friends in high school, they tried to date off and on, but, things just kept on happening. In high school, they were better friends than they were boyfriend/girlfriend.Chris has always stepped up to the plate when it has come to the family ranch,he is a welder, scuba diver, Nuclear training in the Navy and is a MM2 on the boat(Helena) Just a super kid, not really a kid, he'll be 26 on Oct. 6th and Amber will be 25 on October 7th. He's always been his Grandpa Gale's pride and joy. Grandpa Gale died 2 years ago, but, he remains in our hearts. Chris and I have always gone around and around when it comes to John Lennon, I really Love John but, Chris thinks that he was a communist, so, I'm gradually changing his mind about John.

Do you have any other comments or thoughts: We Love you, Christopher Gale. You and your brother Zachary Ryan are just gifts from God. "Life just happens as your living it" John Lennon

Hello, Christopher and Amber, these words are just for you, because we're proud of who you are, and we're very proud of what you do. And I know that at times life can be difficult, and newly weds shouldn't be all at sea, but we just wanted to thank you for being you, you've made our worlds a great place to be. Christopher, you will always be my baby, and I'm sorry, that's the way you'll always stay, I knew from the very first breath that you took, I knew that you'd make me very proud one day. In truth, I knew then that you'd be truly great man, and that bold prophecy has turned out exactly right, and we just wanted to say thank you, thanks Christopher for sharing your magnificent light. We do love you so very much, we love you so much that it really hurts inside, and we know we couldn't have chosen a finer son, we know we couldn't - even if we'd tried. Honestly, it feels like my heart is about to break, but there's happiness there because of your wife, Amber is such a diamond, a rare treasure, we know you'll be very happy with married life. And knowing that you'll have Amber beside you, well, that gently and certainly eases the pain, and when missing you both becomes to much, well, then we'll just replay our memories again and again. Like the time you dressed up as Tina Turner, or when you fittingly became the Homecoming King, or the time you made $120 for 6 touchdowns, extraordinary, it must have a been a Grandpa Grandson thing. Actually, you were always Grandpa Gale's pride and joy, and of course, it's sad that he had to depart, but his spirit lives proudly on inside of you, and he'll always be with you, at your very heart. And it's nice that you've married your best friend, because the friendship part always seems to last longer, although your love is such a fine and beautiful one, I can only see that developing and getting stronger. I know that you imagine John as a communist, but just imagine, with his vision, how the world could unfold, and I know that you'll play your part in that story, but that's in your future, as yet unwritten and untold. "Life just happens as you're living it" but our lives have been blessed with your love, you and Zachary Ryan are truly wonderful, you are our gifts from the heavens above. And maybe I'll make you a Lennon fan one day, I'll certainly try to convince you that he wasn't Red, but I couldn't imagine bearing a finer son, and that's probably the truest words I've ever said.
