Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: We double dated in high school, not each other. We didn't go out until after both of us had graduated from high school. A friend asked me why I never dated Phil, he was such a nice guy, my reply. He never asked. It was quite by accident our first date we went to the movie, and a girlfriend was suppose to go with us, but she cancelled out at the last minute, I always told him that he called her and told her not to go. After our 2nd date I told him I was going to marry him, and he thought I had lost my marbles. But I did marry him. After 3 weeks we were engaged, and his mother wanted us to wait until he was 20 to get married. We did, we waited 5 days after his birthday. We have 2 children, Cindy & Bryne, the guys at the office wrote on the black board, when Bryne our son was born, his name is cabose not certain of spelling but the end of a train. Phil has always been true to me, he has always allowed me to do anything I wanted career wise, he even gave us his career of 19 years, to help me follow my dreams. My dreams came to a halt, and we lost a lot of monetary things, but it made us stronger people because of it. We hit bottom, but we bounced back, and we are very positive people because we have had a lot of good times, and bad times, but more good than bad. My husband is President of his own company now, and has been very successful. He is the wind beneath my wings. We now have 4 granddaughters, and we enjoy the beach, he rides a Harley, and I ride on the back with him. This is really a love of his.

Riding Your Harley
Hello, Phil, my wonderful husband,
these words are just for you,
because I?m proud of who you are,
and I?m very proud of what you do.
I would simply be lost without you,
and after forty years of marriage I?m still so in love,
in fact, I feel like I?ve been blessed from a great height,
so today, I?m thanking my lucky stars in the heavens above.
Because we double dated in high school,
but we weren?t with each other at the time,
and we didn?t get together until after graduation,
and that?s really when my words started to rhyme.
I was questioned why I?d never dated you,
?because he?s never asked? was my obvious reply,
but it was plain to see way back then,
that then, like today, you were such a nice guy.
So our first date happened quite by accident,
I?m sure you called our friend to get her to cancel out,
but after our second date I knew you were the one,
I knew I?d found out what love was all about.
You thought I?d lost my marbles,
but after three weeks we decided to tie the knot,
and your mother made us wait until you were twenty,
and you were twenty years old (and five days to the dot).
And now we have two beautiful children,
Cindy and Bryne, proud to be the end of the train,
and tomorrow, if you asked me to marry you,
I would, without hesitation, do it all over again.
Because you have always been true to me,
and you ended your career to let me follow my dream,
and when those dreams came to a shuddering halt,
we lost a lot but it made us a much stronger team.
We hit bottom but we bounced right back,
we?ve had good and bad times, but more good than bad,
and we?re both more positive people because of it,
we've found it?s much nicer to be happy than to be sad.
Now you?re the president of your own company,
you?ve soared and you?re the wind beneath my wings,
and now we have four beautiful grand-daughters,
and together, we enjoy all sort of wonderful things.
We enjoy the beach and your Harley,
(and I don?t mind being taken for a ride),
because I couldn?t have picked a finer partner,
honestly, I couldn?t ? even if I?d tried.
And I think we?ll be riding your Harley for a long time yet,
in fact, I think we?ll be riding it forever and ever,
because I know I?d be lost without you,
I?m happy as long as we?re traveling through life together.
I just wanted to say happy birthday,
happy 40th anniversary (and a little bit more),
I also just wanted to say that I love you,
that?s really what these words are for. |
