A poem for a special friend on her wedding day saying how honoured she is to be her maid of honour.
We have been asked not to publish the details of this request.
Magical Ride
We've been friends for so long,
it's kind of hard knowing where to start,
but I thought it would be nice,
if I shared a few words "from the heart".
On our journey we've travelled far,
helped each other climb our respective hills,
we've swallowed our impossibly tall stories,
and even some bitter pills.
We are such very good friends,
and we have no secrets to hide,
we've laughed on this "roller coaster",
it's been one long, magical ride.
We've always been there for each other,
especially in our times of need,
a sympathetic ear, a dry shoulder,
I think that we've been friends indeed.
We've also had so many great times,
from playing sports to dancing late,
two ships blown together,
and then guided by the winds of fate.
We survived ruby slippers and Jell-O shots,
and we smashed them at volleyball,
and there's not a problem left in this world,
because we've talked and solved them all.
You are more like a sister to me,
I wouldn't have chosen any other,
and Alan is such a fine and lovely man,
it will be like I'm gaining a brother.
You will always be my good friend,
and now I know what good friends are for,
and I'm proud to be your maid of honour,
another treasured memory for evermore.
I'm so grateful that I'm here with you,
on this, your very special day,
I wish you all the happiness in the world,
what more is there left to say ? |
