A poem for a friend saying how glad they are that they have now found a partner and how it has'nt been easy but now they are on the right road.

Life's Journey
It's funny, but for every sad ending,
there is always a new beginning,
and for all those that are losing,
must mean that someone else is winning.
You've had your ups and downs,
you've been on your eternal quest,
you've relentlessly sought your true love,
you've put St. Valentine to the test.
Life wasn't meant to be easy,
and you can't get it right all of the time,
and love can be an elusive butterfly,
sometimes it's hard to find the rhyme.
We were The Expectation Keepers,
the seven promises we solemnly vow,
and you know what those are,
so I won't go into detail right now.
You've been like a wandering lost soul,
in your search for eternal love,
you've travelled so far and wide,
and even looked to the heavens above !
Now you've finally found your match,
and Margi is her name,
you're a couple of years apart,
but that doesn't matter all the same.
And some things are just meant to be,
it's scary the tricks that fate can play,
because there are 365 days in any year,
but you share the very same birthday.
You were separated by many miles,
but mere distance couldn't keep you apart,
you connected via the Internet,
but now you're joined together at the heart.
You'll be in very good hands,
it'll be Doctor Margi if you please,
she'll be able to sooth your aching head,
she'll even salve when you scrape your knees !
Margi might need her scalpel,
I guess we'll just have to wait and see,
because you'll have to come off your computer,
and that just might take some surgery !
They say that Time waits for no man,
and you just can't stop the falling sand,
so you're lucky that life begins at Forty,
with a new job, a new girl, in a new land.
Your ceaseless quest for love,
has been a rich vein of fun for your friends,
now we'll have to find a new source,
because now I know your searching ends.
And I'm so very, very pleased,
that your quest is now at its end,
because you are such a very good person,
and you are such a very good friend. |
