Joey, My Sunshine
Life can be a roller coaster,
at most times it's a bumpy ride,
but you've made the journey worthwhile,
it's been easier with you by my side.
Do you know how proud of you I am?
Do you know just how lucky I feel?
Well, I'm going to tell you right now,
so just sit back, no arguing - that's the deal.
Now, life ain't no bowl of cherries,
sometimes its an impossible dream,
but you and me belong together,
because we truly are a magical team.
And things don't always work out,
as exactly as they're planned,
sometimes there's no rhyme or reason,
and sometimes that's hard to understand.
And you two are simply miracles,
because I was told I would never, ever conceive,
but you are both a dream personified,
you are both a dream to believe.
You see, you really are so wonderful,
you're such a kind, giving, sensitive boy,
you fill my heart with gladness,
you fill my heart with so much joy.
You bring an energy to my life,
you are like my daily dose of sunshine,
and all I need to do is look at you,
and know that everything will work out just fine.
Now, I know you're not perfect,
and there are certain tasks that you'll shirk,
your room could always do with a tidy,
and you're pretty lazy with your homework.
But these are the lines that really count,
because you are very precious to me, my son,
you're at the top of my hit parade,
in with a bullet - you're number one.
And I'd just like to say "thanks",
that's what these words are for,
just know that I'm very proud of you,
and that I'll love you for evermore. |
