Why do you want the poem written: We are getting married on October 16, 2004. We both have been married before.
What are the key messages you would like to send: The two years that we have dated have prepared us for this moment. We have made it through incredible circumstances and the gift of that is each other. You have evolved into a wonderful and beautiful person. You have patience, strength and a taste for life. You are loved more every day.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: The view at the Golden Gate Bridge and our hike together.
The hot air balloon ride at Eagle Ridge. Little Palm Island in the Keys.
Both our "hole in ones" within a week from each other .Our early morning runs in Hawaii.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Our relationship has been a journey. Tom was going through very bad divorce when I met him, and he wavered throughout most of our relationship because he did not feel "whole" yet. We are finally at peace in our hearts now and ready to share our life together.

The Seven C's
Our relationship has been a journey,
at times, it's been a rough and rocky climb,
but along the way, I've collected some thoughts,
and I think I'd like to share them (I think it's time).
Because I do love you so very much,
and yes, this is our wedding day,
and I've got so much love in my heart,
yes, Tom, I do have so much left to say:
Firstly, I'd like to begin by saying I love you,
in truth, I love you with all my heart and all my soul,
for with you in my life, I'm complete,
you are the one that makes me completely whole.
I know that this is the second chance for both of us,
but often, life is never a rose filled dream,
but over the last two years we've grown together,
we've proved to the world, to each other, we truly are a team.
At times, our lives were tossed about on the seven C's,
there was control, contempt and callous compromise,
conciliation and conscience played their part,
and there was very little commiseration, no surprise.
But in fact, the last two years have prepared us well,
and through it all, we've given each other a lift,
and we've made it through, against all odds,
and each other, well, that's each other's gift.
You have evolved into a wonderful and beautiful person,
in truth, I've never said just how wonderful you are,
but if my love for you were a distance,
then it would be further than the furthest star.
You have such patience, an inner strength,
and you have such a joy for the taste of life,
and I love you more each and every single day,
I'm very proud that I'm to be your wife.
And already, we've created some wonderful memories,
in truth, there's too many to individually list,
just know that everyone is simply precious,
yes, there's not one that I would have missed.
The view from the Golden Gate Bridge was like no other,
we've hiked and ballooned high in the sky together,
and then there was Little Palm Island in the Keys,
the memories of which will last forever and ever.
We holed in one within a week of each other,
and in Hawaii we'd take an early morning run,
and these memories are like the clouds breaking,
because they're behind us, and now there's only sun.
And that is what I promise you my darling,
I promise you sunshine for all of eternity,
because you are my and only soul-mate,
more importantly, you are my destiny.
And I know at times you didn't feel whole,
well, now, we're finally at peace, at ease,
and we're ready to start out on our new journey,
so let's set sail and sail those seven seas. |
