A poem from a young widow describing the life of her late husband to put on his head stone

What is your name : Melissa

Who do you want the poem written for: My husband, Jason

Why do you want the poem written: My husband was killed while at work almost 3 months ago. I wish to have something unique and personal on his head stone.

What are the key messages you would like to send: Jason was the most loving person you could ever meet. He had this infectious laugh that could light up a room. People would laugh just because he was laughing. Everyone that knew him, loved him. He lived each day to the fullest. Even after working such long hours, he was always in a good mood, ready to do something else. He joked around a lot. We were together for 7 years and married for only a little over 2 years before this tragic accident. We were trying to start our own family. Jason really wanted to be a dad. And he would've been the best ever. He loved our two cocker spaniels, Sadie and Sable so much. Very very spoiled. They even sleep in our bed. He was the best husband a girl could ever ask for. He did everything for me and was happy to do it. He was also a great son and brother. Again, he would do anything for anybody. Jason had so many friends. Loyal friends. long time friends. We all miss him very much and cant understand why he was taken from us. Why this happened to such a good person when there are so many bad people out there. I dont know how we will go on.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: Jason had faces a few obstacles in his short life. As a young boy, he rode his bike into a railing and cut his face open. Over a hundred stitches later and plastic surgery, he was fine. About 3 years ago, he was burned at work while torching. He suffered third degree burns to his under arm and back. After more plastic surgery he was fine. While dealing with the pain and surgery for his burns, they discovered he had diabetes. Even all this, did not discourage him. He thought it was cool and liked to show off his diabetic pump. A memorable funny moment....our 2nd anniversary....we went for a mexican dinner at our favorite mexican restaurant and had one to many margaritas....Jason had this thing where when the waiter would bring the bill he would start pulling out cards out of his wallet to pay....like home depot...his library card.....drivers license.....his sears card....things you couldnt use to pay with....he thought it was funny and would leave them there until i would take them away....and say you cant pay with that...and he would say...oh ya....and do it all over again....just alittle humor....

Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Jason loved the Cubs. He also like to travel. We have been to mexico once and hawaii twice. He has parasailed, scuba dived, rode in a helicopter in hawaii. Jason wanted to sky dive, and would've if this wouldn't of happened. He also like country music and even thought he couldn't sing for anything...he would... at the top of his lungs....well only if it was us two....

What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): I would like this to be about him, his life, and how we will miss him.

My Angel Sings

The most loving person you could ever meet,
your infectious laugh would light up any room,
and now you have gone, the world seems darker,
how we need your smile to lift the gloom.

Everyone that knew you, loved you,
and you got the most out of each and every day,
even after working such long hours you wanted more,
and that one line leaves so much left to say:

Always in a good mood, ready to do something else,
and I must admit, you did like to joke around,
but what I wouldn't give to hear your laugh once more,
because truly, it really was such a happy sound.

We were together for seven years, married for two,
and we were trying to start our own family,
and I know you really wanted to be a Dad,
it's so unfair, I guess it was just not meant to be.

However, I know you would have been the best Dad ever,
because you were the finest husband on planet Earth,
and I know that Sadie and Sable also miss you very much,
yes, Jason, we all know your true and honest worth.

You did everything for me and you were happy to do it,
but your overwhelming generosity had no ends,
because you would do anything for anybody,
and you're missed by many loyal and trusted friends.

We just can't understand why you were taken from us,
but I guess in the end, you had to answer God's call,
He obviously had a greater purpose for you up there,
although what you achieved on Earth was by no means small.

I don't know how we are going to continue without you,
so I'm going to carry you here with me, in my soul,
for with you in my life, I did feel complete,
yes Jason, you are the one that makes me completely whole.

So, you will continue to be my lifelong companion,
and I know at times, that's going to be pretty hard,
but maybe I'll take you skydiving or parasailing,
maybe I'll even pay for a meal with your library card.

And in your short life, you faced many obstacles,
in truth, there's just too many to individually list,
just know that you've taught us all so very much,
and yes, Jason, you are going to be sadly missed.

But I also know that you like to travel,
so now, you're really able to stretch your wings,
and from now on, whenever I hear loud, country music
I'll close my eyes and just imagine how my angel sings.
