There are a lot of words spoken,
some in haste, some are rather fine,
some have meaning, depth and character,
some are like very rare and expensive wine.

And others may dream of what we have,
I guess we're amongst the lucky few,
we've a wonderfully happy home,
and simply put, you love me and I love you.

We have so many special times together,
we've always got along so very well,
I love you more now than when I fell in love,
but I'm still the besotted teenager - can you tell?

We were childhood sweethearts,
but at fourteen you instinctively knew that I was the one,
and we've shared our summer days hand in hand,
and together we'll bask in our autumnal sun.

And it's magical the way things have worked out,
with Joshua and Connor we're simply complete,
and our life has been like a paradise,
it's a life that anyone would find hard to beat.

We've had two gifts from God,
and been blessed from the heavens above,
we've been given lives with so much hope and joy,
and have been simply surrounded by all that wondrous love.

You've been my inspiration,
you've been my light, my faithful guide,
and I couldn't have picked a finer husband,
I couldn't - even if I'd tried.

We've always given each other our trust,
and we've supported each other in our hours of need,
and with that kind of love and devotion,
then we were simply destined to succeed.

Of course, we've had our ups and downs,
often life is no rose filled dream,
but when the going got tough, we got going,
and proved that we're a magnificent team.

Some say that marriage is death by a thousand cuts,
and that's when I know just how lucky we are,
and of all the people in this Universe,
I'm glad that I picked you - my shining star.
