A joint Wedding and Birthday gift to the Bride whose Birthday is also her Wedding Day
What is your name : Brad Gingrich
Who do you want the poem written for: Alison
Why do you want the poem written: Alison and I are getting married on Oct. 29th of this year. Our wedding day just also happens to be her birthday and I would like to do something extra special on our wedding day because it is also her birthday. So I have been looking for something to combine the two occasions together. This seemed like the perfect way.
What are the key messages you would like to send: Throughout our years together, the mirror will show us that we are getting older, but our love will not grow old, but be renewed and fresh every day.(something to that effect)
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Just that the poem incorporate a combination of our two identical occasions...our wedding day and Alison's birthday.
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): Romantic, but something that combines the occasions of our wedding day and her birthday.

This Day
I just wanted to say I love you,
but in truth, I didn?t know where to start,
so I thought I?d share a few thoughts,
and give you some words, straight from the heart.
Today is a truly magical day,
so much happiness in just 24 hours,
a day that we?ll always remember,
a day, that will indelibly, always be ours.
And this day was already so very special,
because it was the day you landed on planet Earth,
and ever since that wonderful moment,
you?ve proved exactly what life can be worth.
Because your love must be celestial,
it?s so wonderful, borne in the heavens above,
I know that I?ve been blessed you have met you,
I know that I?ve been blessed with your love.
Throughout our years together,
the mirror might tell an aging tale,
but our love will never get old,
it will renew afresh and never fail.
And through that love we?ll be forever young,
and that?s how we?ll stay, growing together,
because ours is a story that started in the heavens,
so it?s one that?s destined to last forever and ever.
And I just wanted to say ?I love you?,
I?ve never really said just how wonderful you are,
but if my love for you were a distance,
then it would be further than the furthest star.
Finally, I will be forever thankful for this day,
because on this day, I am yours, you are mine,
and the memories of this day will last forever,
and forever, this day will be October Twenty Nine. |
