Our love is like the autumn sun,
it'll warm us and keep out the winter chill,
just know that I love you now,
and of course, that I always will.
Happy Birthday my darling,
my feelings for you run so deep,
I think of you in my waking hours,
I dream of you when I'm asleep.
It took a billion years,
for this universe to be,
so what's a couple of years between us?
Simply put, you are my destiny.
Even though differences in our lives,
have managed to keep us apart,
you are my very soul, my very oneness,
and we're joined together at the heart.
Every day that passes,
our love grows even more,
I'm like a sparrow on the eagle's wings,
you lift me higher and higher and then I soar.
And my love for you is a living thing,
a vibrant, throbbing piece of life,
and I'm so very lucky to know you,
and I'm so proud to be your wife.
And our love grows and blossoms,
like a field of yellow shimmering flowers,
a love that is destined forever,
and a love that forever will be ours.
And now our families are together,
they too have joined as one,
and together we will share our sunsets,
and together we'll enjoy our autumn sun.
We have explored what our love means,
we've examined every corner, every nook,
and I know that I'll love you forever,
and it really only took the one look.
Because you are what I was searching for,
my heart was in the lost and found,
and when I say (and mean) I love you,
well, that really is a very happy sound.
And we've enjoyed our travels,
Paris, Barcelona and tomorrow the world,
because we are looking for new horizons,
and sailing with all our sails unfurled.
So I'd just like to wish you Happy Birthday,
that's really what these words are for,
here's to all of our autumns together,
and here's to at least another sixty two more. |
