A poem to be read as a Wedding toast from a special friend who has shared so much with the bride and groom
We have been asked not to publish the detials of this request.
Deja Vu
The wedding has been wonderful so far,
and I know tonight is going to be a ball,
so I'd like to begin this little speech,
by thanking Deb and Mark from us all.
Do you remember that awful feeling?
That feeling at Deja Vu,
we would both cry into our drinks,
first it was me, then it was you.
We've shared so much together,
so many immensely happy times,
so many drunken nights,
so many nearly perfect rhymes...
You've watched us all get married,
you've arranged us one by one,
and I just wanted to say thank you,
thanks for all the organising that you've done !
And time waits for no woman,
so I'm glad that Deb's finally found her match,
we can all see that he's a bit of a looker,
in fact, maybe he's a bit of a catch !
But I've corrupted him with my e-mails,
(he reckons I've sent him all my spam),
but you can't knock his love of football,
strange then - how he can support West Ham !
But seriously folks, at the service today,
didn't they make a wonderful sight?
They do make a lovely couple,
Mr. and Mrs. Just Right.
So what of the future?
I guess only time will tell,
let us help them on their way,
by toasting and wishing them well.
Because today is their special day,
I guess it's what weddings are for,
to wish them everlasting love and happiness,
today, tomorrow and for evermore. |
