Who do you want the poem written for: My boyfriend of almost four years, Dan

Why do you want the poem written: To give him a token of my love and appreciation for all that he has done for me and my son Andrew over the years. We truly have been a challenge for him and he has loved us unselfishly. I want him to truly understand how he warms me.

What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): Romantic, sincere and heartfelt

What are the key messages you would like to send: I am grateful to have met him and let him into my life. I would have never believed that I could ever find someone who knows exactly what I think and feel before I do. He was made for me. I believe we are a perfect fit. We are not alike but yet complete each other in ways that no one but we can understand. I look forward to beginning a long and happy life together.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: The most memorable moment was when we saw each other for the first time. The way we met was over the internet via a personal ad I posted as a joke. I was a single working mom trying to finish college and did it for entertainment. I had no intention of meeting anyone. We e-mailed for weeks then starting talking on the phone for days. His voice just did something to me. One night out, I called him and told him I had to see him because I could not take it anymore. He gave me directions to his house and I went over fearing the unknown. He came out of his house and I was taken by him. Once we made eye contact we were forever connected. He leaned in for a kiss and I told him I had to go. We still talk about that night to this day. We are both surprised how we found each other. We lived in the same town, hung out in the same places but never met before. We do not tell people the truth about how we met. It is our secret.

Hello, my wonderful Dan, these words are just for you, because I'm proud of who you are, and I'm very proud of what you do. And I just wanted to say "I love you", but in truth, I didn't know where to start, so I thought I'd share a few feelings, and give you some words, they're straight from the heart. Firstly, I'd like to begin by looking upwards, and thanking those in the heavens above, because I know I've been blessed to have shared you, I know that I've been blessed with your love. So this is a token of my love and appreciation, a token for all that you've done for Andrew and me, because we just wanted to thank you for being you, you've made our worlds a great place to be. I know we've both been a challenge to you, but it was us that you chose to save, and you have loved us both so unselfishly, it was only unconditional love that you ever gave. I want you to understand how you warm me, in truth, you warm me to my very soul, for you are the one that has made me complete, you are the one that makes me completely whole. I am so grateful to have met you, I'm even more thankful that I let you into my life, I feel very honored to be walking with you, and I hope that one day, I will be your wife. Because I never believed I'd find someone like you, someone who knows exactly how I think and feel, I'm like an onion in your hands, layer after layer, you carefully peel. And there inside, is the real "me", and you know me intimately, inside and out, and you've taught me so much in life, including an ear that will always understand. We are not alike, yet we complete each other, (and there are not many who understand how we fit together), but I'm so looking forward to our future, because I think we're destined to be forever and ever. I remember the very first time we met, (but how we met will remain our surprise), but I knew as soon as I saw you, I could see the real "you", it was there in your eyes. Once we made eye contact we were forever connected, forever connected in a lifetime of wonderful bliss, (even though I said I had to go, when you leaned in for what would've been our first kiss.) I know we're surprised how we found each other, we hung out in the same places but had never met before, but then the winds of fate blew us together, and they knew, once our eyes met, we'd be happy for evermore.
