A Gift of Poetry is one of the most unique birthday, wedding or anniversary gifts that you can give. However, because it is a gift of expression, you may have many different reasons for

A Gift of Poetry. The perfect gift for any occasion

A Gift of Poetry A Gift of Poetry. The unique gift for every occasion. A gift that says it all.

A poem written for cousins from cousins when their mother decided to take them overseas.

I live in Australia which is on the other side of the world from where I was born. As a consequence I have another family, who I also love dearly, many miles from me. We stay in touch every week but it is not the same. My brother in law's wife was in the same situation and took things into her own hands to get her family to the other side of the world. I am not going to enter into the rights and wrongs of her actions but this poem is from my kids to hers.

Sorry

We're sorry that you've gone,
we're sorry that you're no longer here.
We're sorry we never said good bye
and didn't shed a single tear.

And now we live so far apart,
separated by many miles,
so I'll just remember our happy times
and your wonderful heartfelt smiles.

The pool cover is coming off ,
but there'll be no more splashing water fights,
there'll be no more sleepovers,
there'll be no more sleepless nights.

And Grandma's Sunday dinners,
that wonderful wholesome fare,
will never be the same
now that you won't be there.

There'll be no more cubby houses
or playing hide and seek.
There'll be no more secret cuddles
or kisses on the cheek.

And the house at Woonona,
the home you knew so well,
now seems like an empty nest,
now seems like an empty shell.

As these memories come flooding back
like some favourite remembered tune,
We only have one thought -
kids, please hurry back, and SOON.
