Made of Gold

We were born on the same day, the same year, and we've served on many committees together, and I just wanted to thank you for your friendship, because it's one that I know will last forever and ever. I admire you for your strength and courage, you've stood firm whenever the lion has roared, and you've so many, varied and incredible talents, and that's just one of the reasons that you've soared. But I think at the heart of the matter, well, at your heart is a mighty fine soul, and I just wanted to thank you for being you, I'd like to thank you for playing such an active role. You have such passion, such faith, you're deeply committed to serve humanity, and on behalf of the world, I'd like to thank you, because you've made the world a better place to be. And with your skills as a remarkable publicist, who knows who you might recruit to your worthy cause? But for a moment, please take a deep breath, and enjoy your much deserved round of applause. Because your friendship is something so very precious, and it's something that I will always treasure, because I know that with you in my life, I have much, I have wealth beyond earthly measure. For the record, your singing is far from amateur, and of course, you're simply a wonderful mother, we all know that you're truly unique in this world, and naturally, like you, there'll never be another. You are such a discerning and sensitive person, you're worldly, wise and so incredibly kind, and I know that a friendship like ours is rare, I also a know a friend like you is hard to find. I'm looking forward to our future with confidence, and to our stories, as yet unwritten and untold, and I know I will treasure every moment that we share, every minute, I will treat as if, like you, they're made of gold. And I just wanted to say Happy 50th Birthday, I guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, Kate, you're truly wonderful, and here's to our everlasting friendship, for evermore.
