A Gift of Poetry A Gift of Poetry. The unique gift for every occasion. A gift that says it all.

This couple were introduced by friends and are now celebrating their 1st Anniversary by going back to the town where they went to college.

Q1: What is your Name?
A1: Josh Blewitt (names have been changed)

Q2: What is your Email Address?
A2:

Q3: Who do you want the poem written for ?
A3: Tara Blewitt (my wife)

Q4: Why do you want the poem written ?
A4: It is our 1 yr. Wedding Anniversary on November 25. We will be going to the town we went to college in (flagstaff arizona) and staying at the little america hotel, our favorite hotel.

Q5: What are the key messages you would like the poem to send ?
A5: Still love her more than ever, so lucky to have her in my life, she makes my life complete

Q6: Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share ?
A6: we met and began our relationship in flagstaff arizona, a small (winter) town that we both miss now that we live in the big city of phoenix where it is too hot. our first night meeting was at a party where we met and we stayed up until 6am talking and eventually capped it off with breakfast at denny's. it was freezing that night and we walked to my jeep so i could drive us to dennys. she said how cold she was and i said you needed to be "physically cold but mentally warm" and you wouldn't feel cold it all. we often joke about that now.

one night it was snowing hard and we stood in the hallway of her dorm (wilson hall). i kept commenting on the snow plow, calling it mr. plow. i was actually just building up the courage for our first kiss, which happened right there. she later told me it was obvious how nervous i was, that i was practically shaking, which was kind of funny. most of our happiest memories revolve around our happy, carefree days there at northern arizona university (or just nau) in flagstaff, az.

Now I am an accountant working for Arizona state university, and she is a document clerk at law offices of fennemore craig. we both really miss our days at NAU, and wish it could be the way it used to be, without a care in the world.

Q7: Do you have any other comments or thoughts ?
A7: My good friend Steve Jones (and roommate) was friends with Tara's friend. It was those two who introduced us, they kind of arranged the party where we met and stayed up all night, etc.

Tara is currently applying to Law schools, praying she gets in because her grades were not that great.

i proposed to her at "olive garden" in phoenix where i had the waitress bring a piece of cheesecake for dessert with the ring slid over the fork on the plate. everyone around us was watching and when she said yes everyone clapped.

We spent many afternoons in college driving to Sedona and Schnebly hill, skipping class and just enjoying the day.

for our honeymoon we went stayed at forest houses, which is a cabin we rented in sedona, arizona.

Q8: What style of poem would you prefer ? (Happy, sad, romantic etc.)
A8: romantic, something that lets her know how much i still love her, even though i've been far from the perfect husband. she's always told me i need to "be aware of my surroundings", and my cleanliness in our house has left a lot to be desired, but i want her to know i'm trying. if you could work some humor into the poem, that would be good too, but i would like it to be mostly romantic.

Q9: How did you find out about A Gift Of Poetry ? (If a search engine, please specify which engine and search term you used)
A9: i just stumbled on it, but i think it was yahoo.

Q10: Choose either the economy, standard, unique or deluxe package.
A10: standard

Mentally Warm

Life can be a messy thing,
and it can lead to untidiness,
but out of chaos emerges order,
and what follows is eternal happiness...

We met in Flagstaff, Arizona,
a small (winter) town that we both miss,
it's where we had breakfast at Denny's,
it's where I stole my first (nervous) kiss.

Our days at NAU,
were so happy and carefree,
we both really miss those days,
and wish it was the way it used to be.

But life never stays in the one place,
and you just can't halt that marching time,
and sometimes things get tough,
and sometimes the words don't rhyme.

Life wasn't meant to be easy,
and marriage is harder still,
but you keep me mentally warm,
you keep out that winter chill.

We've now been married for one year,
we both have the benefit of hindsight,
but I'd like to set the record straight,
and put a few wrongs to write :)

Because you are still so beautiful,
and you are my dreams personified,
I love you from my very core,
I love you from way deep inside.

And today is the first day,
the first day in the rest of our life,
and I'm so proud to be with you,
I'm so lucky to have you as my wife.

And now I'm doing the accountant thing,
and you're busy applying to law schools,
maybe we shouldn't have skipped class so often,
maybe we should have just followed the rules?

But everything for a reason,
or at least that's what they say,
and I'm so very glad to have married you,
the day I met you was my luckiest day.

And I love you so very much,
more than these mere words can express.
Tara Blewitt, you are beautiful.
Tara Blewitt, you are simply the best.

And I'm sorry that I'm not so tidy,
and that my clothes just hang on the floor,
but just know that I love you madly,
and that I'll love you for evermore.

Comments:

Thanks for the first draft. It looks very good.

I think the poem is very good. I do not think it is too long. I don't have any problems with you posting the poem, although I would rather you not use our names (Ed: Names have been changed) on the website, if you don't mind.

As for a background, the boy and girl kissing sounds cute, but I also like the idea of the still water with forest, either one would be fine, why don't you just choose? The poem does not need to be autographed (unless you normally do that) and I do not need the original hand-written draft, thanks.

Please get back to me as soon as possible, and thanks for the great work.
