23rd Wedding Anniversary for wife to husband, together through good and bad, she is a recovering alchoholic
What is your name : Pam Matley
Who do you want the poem written for: my husband Tad
Why do you want the poem written: It is our 23rd wedding anniversary
What are the key messages you would like to send: Tad and I have been on a journey through many good times and rough times. I am a recovering alcoholic of 10 months. I want him to know how I am looking forward to a wonderful life together. We have 3 children, 22, 13 and 13. We have a sensational lake house right on the lake looking over the adirondack mountains. We are at peace there. Tad has been there for me through everything thing. He is the man of my dreams. I am a very lucky woman and my higher power truly blessed me with him and my sober life with him.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: We have had magical times driving through the mountains in Germany and Switzerland. I swam away from him in St, Thomas while snorkeling and left him there. He couldn't see anything because he didn't wear his glasses. Sky diving for his birthday present two years ago although, it was what I wanted to do. Watching the sunsets almost everyplace we ever went, mexico, st. thomas, schroon lake (where our lake house is), california, florida. Enjoying the beauty. The happy times now that I am sober. I love him just as much or even more than I did when I first married him. He has given me the life of princess it feels at times. I didn't appreciate his sincere love then, but, I most certainly do now. We are friends, lovers, partners, husband and wife.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Tad is a man of integrity. We were sent together for a reason. I am very grateful for the love we have. With each day, we have a new beginning. Our children are surely one of God's greatest gifts. Many times, we need not to share our words directly, we can feel them within. I am at peace with him. What a strange pattern of life we have weaved and what a beautiful one at that

A Name Revealed
What a strange pattern of life we've weaved,
but it's been a beautiful one all the same,
and I know who I have to thank for that,
and in a few lines, I shall reveal his name.
But firstly, I'll begin by looking skywards,
and thanking the greater power in the heavens above,
because I know I've been blessed to have met you,
I know that I've been blessed with your love.
And ours has been, at times, a turbulent journey,
and at times, I didn't know how long we could last,
but you helped me to discover the greater truth,
and that's greatness doesn't grow in the bottom of a glass.
And now I am recovering,
but we both know, that's a lifelong task,
but I'm so looking forward to our future together,
and sharing many more sunsets, in which we'll bask.
We have three beautiful children,
and a sensational house on the lake,
we are at peace there, I am sober,
and I think that's all it will ever take.
Because truly, you've been there for me,
you've been there for me through thick and thin,
and I just wanted to say "thank you",
but in truth, I just didn't know where to begin.
I know that I am a very lucky woman,
because you are literally the man of my dreams,
and despite everything, we're stronger than ever,
step up, step up, we're one the world's greatest teams.
We've shared so many wonderful and magical times,
in truth, too many to individually list,
just know that everyone is precious to me,
there's not one that I would have missed.
Germany, Switzerland, St.Thomas, and of course, the lake,
we've watched sunsets, snorkeled and we've sky dived,
and Tad, you have breathed the life back into me,
because at last, once again, I feel fresh, completely alive.
I love you even more than when I married you,
and I know tomorrow, I'll love you even more,
and I just wanted to thank you for my princess's life,
I guess that's really what these words are for.
We're friends, lovers, partners, husband and wife,
I never really appreciated you, my man of integrity,
but now, I know exactly what your love is worth,
you've made my world a much better place to be.
And we were sent together for reason,
as once more, there's joy in my every week,
many times, we don't need to share our words directly,
we can feel our words within, there's no need to speak.
But this is a very big exception to that rule,
because you're the best partner anyone's ever had,
and I promised I'd reveal to you the name of my Savior,
well, you've probably guessed it by now, his name is Tad. |
