Why do you want the poem written ?: My mother and father in law are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this coming Saturday (April 12th, 2003) I am a strong believer of God and I have been chosen for the dinner prayer. I am very shy in front of large crowds and cannot find the right words for our dinner prayer.

A Time
They say there's a time to keep silent,
but this is my time to speak,
I must admit I'm a little nervous,
in fact, I've been worrying about this all week.
To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under heaven above,
I would like to thank God for our dinner
and thank Him for all His love.
They say that there is a time to tear
and they say there's a time to sew,
it's something that's written in The Bible,
it's maybe something some of you already know.
And Gail and Warren have shared their time,
they've shared their laughter and their tears,
there's been a time to weep and a time to laugh,
for they've shared a wonderful, blessed fifty years.
And I humbly ask God for his blessing,
on them and all who are gathered here tonight,
I would like to thank Him for his guidance
and thank Him for his radiant light.
I also ask God to bless our dinner
and thank Him for providing us with such wonderful fare,
also thanks for looking after Gail and Warren
and for providing them with such tender, loving care.
In fact, my heart is filled with thanks,
for I know what all our blessings are worth,
so in closing, I would just like to thank The Lord
and thank Him for our blessed time on earth.
