Why do you want the poem written: i am currently in iraq deployed and she is in afganistan and we have been apart for 10 months. our 1 year anniversary just past. during this deployment she said that she didnt want to get into a serious relationship before her life was established but she fell in love with me. i told her that life doesnt always go as planned but everything in my being tells me that i found true love and that true love is worth holding on to. i want her to know that i love her more today than i ever have, my love has no end. and that no matter how long we have been apart i still hold on to her love and to us.


What are the key messages you would like to send: that no matter what life brings us. love always takes presidence and that making a desicion like leaving me because of her life not being where she wants it is easy to make since i am not with her. it is easy to think of me as a past memory but my love is there always.


Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: the first day i told her i loved her with my eyes before i told her with my words

Our Star

As you know, we're both deployed in foreign lands, and it's so difficult, being so far apart, so I thought I'd share a few feelings, and give you some words, straight from the heart. We've now been apart for ten long months, but the love inside of me will never die, and I'm going to explain that one line, or at least, I'm going to give it my very best try. I know you didn't want to get too serious, but there's no accounting for those winds of fate, and it's no use battling the tides of destiny, I'm here waiting for you, I'm your soul mate. I told you that life doesn't always go as planned, and you can't control the whims of every soul, but I'm so glad that you're in my life, for you are the one that makes me completely whole. And just be careful out there my darling, I want you to come home safe and in one piece, because the love I have for you is everlasting, it's the kind of love that will simply never cease. Everything in my being tells me you're the one, I know in my heart that I've found my true love, and I know I've been blessed to have met you, I know that I've been blessed by the heavens above. And tonight, after dark, please look skywards, and there you'll see my love for you, burning bright, my love will be the brightest star in the sky, because I'll be there for you, I'll be sending you my light. And the path of true love never runs easy, but it's something to be treasured and to behold, because I'm so looking forward to our future, to our future stories - as yet unwritten and untold. Now, I know it would be easy to leave me, because you're not where you want to be in your life, but love always finds a way, it takes precedence, and one day, I hope that we can be man and wife. Look, I know that I'm not there with you, but please don't think of me as a memory past, because what we have is something so special, and believe me, it's something that's going to last. And the first time that I ever said "I love you", and I guess this will come as no surprise, I didn't need any words to express myself, because I did all the talking with my very eyes. And those eyes now ache for you, and yes, there's been many a tear that I've shed, because the thought of losing you is unbearable. "Goodbye" would the most tragic words I've ever said. I just wanted to say Happy First Anniversary, I'm looking forward for many more to unfold, and I just wanted to say "I love you", because I think we've a story to be told. And no matter what we've been through this past year, well, you've been the joy that's brightened my road, there will never be a "me", there's only us, together, and together, we can find love, the mother lode. I want you to know that I love more today then ever, and tomorrow, I know I'll love you even more so, my love has no end, it is infinity plus one, oh yes, there's one other thing that you should know: No matter how long that we have been apart, I still hold on to you, our love and what we stand for, just know that our star, my love for you, is everlasting, and that our star will keep on shining, for evermore
