40th Birthday gift to a friend at a surprise party
What is your name : Denine James-Nio
Who do you want the poem written for: Janet Haller
Why do you want the poem written: For Janet's 40th Birthday
What are the key messages you would like to send: Janet is a wonderful person that just celebrated her 40th Birthday in May. Her mom is throwing her a party in CT and I will be there and would like to read the poem. Janet is struggling right now balancing a career, 4 children and a household after not working for 15 years she opened an office for us in Manhattan. She is raising two teenagers and a three year old and a five year old. I would like Janet to know how proud we are of her opening an office and launching a successful "Hula Post" branch in Manhattan. Janet is loving, charming, caring, warm, sensitive, kind and funny. She is a wonderful mother friend, and wife. She does not think of herself first, but others. She is doing a great job and is really trying to hold it together as normal challenges
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: Janet and I are friends because my husband is her ex-brother-in-law. Although we met over the phone through very odd and strained circumstances we quickly became friends almost instantly. Our friendship has grown to be very deep filled with mutual admiration, respect, and love. It has also enabled a healing to take place with my husband and his ex-wife. I guess stranger things have happened.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: I am not sure if this can be completed in the time allowed. I will be leaving for Manahattan on 6/5/05. I would however be able to receive a package in our office in NYC on that Monday 6/6/05 if that date can be met. Please let me know if this is possible.
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.) Happy/sentimental/Sad in parts if possible
Please choose which package you would prefer : Deluxe
Would you like a copy of the handwritten drafts : Yes
Do you have any last comments or thoughts: Janet is very special and I want to read her poem at the SURPRISE Party that her mom is giving her on 6/7/05. She is having trouble with her older son being a teenager. I want her to know how proud of her I am for opening an office, succeeding, and balancing all that she does for her family. She is a wonderful friend and I am so blessed and honored to have her in my life. We met over the phone, and I knew that we would be friends forever. Our friendship helped heal many wounds with my husband and his wife and with her sister. Many people think it is strange that my husbands, ex-wides' sister works for me, but she is a gem and she is wonderful!
Love and Admiration
Ladies and Gentlemen,
can I have your attention please,
because every now and then in life,
there?s opportunity you should seize.
And that moment is upon us,
after all, it was Janet?s 40th birthday,
and I?ve got some thoughts on my mind,
yes, I do have some heartfelt words to say.
You see, I know Janet is struggling right now,
she has a career, four children and a household,
but we?re all so very proud of her,
hers is a story that deserves to be told.
Now, she hasn?t worked for fifteen years,
yet in Manhattan, we now have a Hula Post,
and Janet, you?ve done really, really well,
and in a moment, to you, we?ll raise a toast.
But before we get onto wetting our lips,
we should really start to explore Janet?s mind,
because you?re loving, charming, caring,
warm, sensitive, so very funny, so very kind.
You?re a wonderful mother, friend and wife,
and you always put others first, with yourself last,
and you make friends so very easily,
and in fact, you make them very fast.
Because we met through odd and strained circumstances,
but we quickly became friends, almost instantly,
and ever since our friendship has grown and grown,
and ever since, my world has been a better place to be.
As our friendship is filled with so many joys,
it?s filled with mutual admiration, respect, and love,
and I know that I?ve been blessed to have met you,
I know that I should thank my lucky stars above.
Because a healing has taken place with my husband and his ex,
and that?s good, because the clocks only go the one way,
and now Janet, I promise, no more surprises,
but I do have this one last thing to say.
I think you?re a truly special person,
in fact, I?ve never said just how wonderful you are,
but if my love and admiration were a distance,
then it would be further than the furthest star.
We also want to say Happy 40th Birthday,
I guess that?s really what these words are for,
here?s to you, Janet, you?re truly wonderful,
and here?s to Hula Post, Manhattan, for evermore. |
