A memorial poem for the newspaper for a ladies late husband who dies in a road accident

My name is Cinda Elias and I bought a gift of poetry from you back in September or October of 2004. It was wonderful and was a big hit. I also received a certificate that entitles me to one free standard poem. As you know Memorial Day is coming up and I would like to put a piece in our local newspaper in the memorial column in memory of my husband. I do not need anything real large like before but something that gets the point across maybe 5 pr 6 paragraphs. If I go over my budget I am still willing to pay as this is the most important thing I must do. The poem is about my late husband Edward Elias that was killed in a motorcycle accident in Sept. 2003. I was a passenger on the back of the bike which left me hospitalized for 2 months and several broken bones.

Some suggestions for the poem not necessarily in this order; It is coming up on 20 months or 627 days since you left us. Things are still very difficult without you. I miss my Jack of all Trades. I?m reminded everyday by the scars and bruises what our family has gone through and

you can still see the heart ache in our son?s eyes. Family and friends miss you dearly and one of your best friends got your picture tattooed on his forearm with the quote ?only the good die young? and the rest us have memorabilia stickers in our car window. One person waits patiently for his emblem of you on his chest where he will carry you in his heart forever. Tragedy has hit our family again in February when my mom passed away and I was hoping that you would be the one to greet her at the pearly gates. There have been two more additions added to the family since you?ve been gone and since they did not get the pleasure of meeting you they have been named after you. You?re still the main topic at the family functions. Your mom and I still lean on each other for comfort. The Ford Escort is still on the road but with your mom behind the wheel. I continue to fight for justice on your behalf and will not give up till his license is gone. Until we meet again my love always your wife.

Let me know what you come up with.

Thanks
Cinda Elias

Always, Your Wife

It has been 627 days since you left us,
not that I'm counting the hours, not at all,
but I wanted you to know that I miss you,
the world seems quieter, duller, kind of small.

Things are still very difficult without you.
My! How I miss my "Jack Of All Trades",
and the scars and bruises remind me of the pain,
but our memory of you is something that never fades.

As Joe has a picture of you, tattooed on his forearm,
and now there are two new babies, both named Ed,
and your mother is driving your Ford Escort every day,
and now that just leaves this to be said:

I hope you welcomed my mom at the pearly gates,
because here, your name lives on and I guess, so does life,
just know that I love you today and I'll love tomorrow.
So, until we meet again, my love, always, your wife.
